COMMISSION APPROVES FUNDS FROM "DONOR FUND"

In terms with the decision of the Municipal Commission, the eligibility and criteria for awarding financial assistance to vulnerable families with seriously ill children, which was established by the City Municipality of Palilula with the campaign "Let's help our children," donations in the amount of RSD 40,000 were paid to the family Mijajlović in order to support treatment of eight year old Milica, suffering from congenital heart disease, asthma, and the residual psychomotor development. By considering the entire enclosed documents, the Commission found that the family Mijajlović meets all the criteria for appropriate assistance. Tanja Mijajlović, mother of  little Milica is unemployed, her father Radoslav is retired. They have six children living with them in the community and grandfather who has no income.

Apartment at Ljubomir Nikolic street is in very poor condition, having outstanding bills for electricity and water. Based on the submitted medical documentation, the Commission noted that Milica Mijajlović, born 2004th is suffering from a congenital heart defect and psychomotor development retardation. Medical treatment is lacking because the girl was not able to travel to appointments in the Clinical Department. According to the President of the Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić, in addition to the financial support of the family, municipality will provide transportation to the Department of Health of Mother and Child- Serbia'' Dr Vukan Čupić'' in Belgrade, where doctors operated small Milica one year ago.

After several months of activity, at the beginning of July Palilula Municipality-Nis started a charity campaign called'' Let's help our children''. Action is part of the socio-humanitarian programs of Municipality of Palilula which aims to support families faced with the problem of securing the conditions for the proper care of children. The first activity under this action was the donor evening. On this occasion, there were 150,000 dinars collected and new donors are expected to join this cause.

"More than 20 families asked our administration for help because of the problem in the treatment of their children. We visited our citizens, and we have been convinced that this is really a big problem, which threatened the lives of children aged three to ten years. This requires urgent social action to engage and help these kids. First we react in resolving problems of further treatment of three years old Dorotea Mitic, who has heart problems from birth and lives in very poor conditions in the area of ​​Mramor. After new interventions on the heart, she is recovering at a clinic in Belgrade. After touring and supporting five year old Vuk Jovanovic, who suffers from a rare bowel disease, we decided, said president of Municipality of Palilula, to seek the help of the wider community of socially responsible companies, enterprises and public institutions in the city. All of this because the municipality has not been having special funds for this purpose.
